Meghan McCain has suggested that Barack and Michelle Obama are heading for divorce, according to rumours she’d heard from “serious journalists”.

The 40-year-old podcaster and daughter of late US politician John McCain was speaking to Tara Palmeri during a recent podcast appearance when they turned to the topic of the former president and first lady.

During their discussion, Ms McCain claimed that “reputable people” had told her that the couple weren’t on the best of terms.

“I have been hearing this rumor that the Obamas are getting a divorce by reputable people,” the politicial insider said. “I’m not talking about TMZ. I’m not talking about Perez Hilton, although I love him, he’s my friend.“

She continued: ”I’m talking about like very serious journalists telling me that they’re hearing that the Obama divorce rumors are true.”

Ms Palmeri also chimed in, suggesting that she’d heard “they live separate lives.”
