Dr. Ronen received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the Technion in 2014.

He Joined UC Riverside as a BARD postdoctoral fellow in 2014 for two years.

In his first academic appointment, Ronen served as Assistant Professor aat the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Temple University, PA, USA. Upon coming to Ben-Gurion University in 2020, he founded The Ronen research group.

Dr. Ronen’s research is in the area of water-energy-health nexus. Specifically, the research in his group involves: (i) Membrane-based processes for energy-efficient desalination and wastewater reuse including membrane distillation and electrically conducting membranes, (ii) Removal and assessment of micropollutants, heavy metals and rare earth metal avner ronen biography for kids2 DYSA
